A beautiful Vintage Untreated Type A Lilac Jadeite Jade Cabochon from Burma.
Jade and Jadeite are the most complex of the precious gems. The overwhelming majority of Jade on the market in the USA is treated Jade or imitation Jade. This gets very confusing as the price point for real jade can fluctuate dramatically ranging from $200 to $20k per carat. Jadeite can sell for even higher. So it is very important to know if your Jade is authentic and to have it looked at by a professional.
I had this piece looked at by a gemologist with a specialty in Jade. He did confirm it as Type A Burmese Jadeite Jade. I did not pay for the certificate. He looked at it and confirmed this as authentic free of charge.
Metaphysically speaking Lilac Jade is a stone of Joy and bliss. It activates the third eye and crown chakras.
