Batman #250 (1973) Vintage Frank Robbins Story, Performance Art Marketing Gone Wrong | Plus, Batman Goes Camping

Batman looks into a weird series of thefts based upon number-associated objects that end up in the hands of wax dummies in a museum. After a lengthy investigation, Batman finally confronts the man responsible for the thefts and discovers his secret.

In a separate story, Bruce Wayne takes a group of children on a camping trip and learns how each of them view the Batman. After listening to their stories, Bruce decides to surprise them by appearing as Batman. He realizes that his image is only frightening to those who have a guilty conscience, not to those who are innocent.

Notes:

In "The Batman Nobody Knows!"

- There are several references to people and media from the 70s. They are the athletes Muhammad Ali and Jim Brown and the films Shaft and Super Fly.

- Ronnie calls Batman "Batwings" and imagines him as a black man, in a black and blue outfit with bat-like wings.
